The name “Eyaru” comes from an ancient hieroglyphic concept describing the Fields of Reeds, the eternal paradise where pharaohs were believed to live in the afterlife. It was a place of peace, abundance, beauty, and harmony with nature.
This powerful idea became the soul and inspiration behind Eyaru Dahabiya.
From the earliest design stage, Eyaru was created to embody the spirit of ancient Egypt, offering travelers not just a Nile cruise, but a deeply immersive cultural experience. Every detail—every texture, color, plate, carpet, and carving—has been handmade in Egypt, reflecting authentic local craftsmanship and timeless Egyptian heritage.
Eyaru is not about imitation—it is about living the Egyptian spirit.
Each cabin tells a different story inspired by ancient Egyptian symbolism and the natural beauty of Upper Egypt. Designs feature papyrus plants, lotus flowers, palm trees, and banana leaves—motifs deeply rooted in Pharaonic life and Nile culture. No two cabins are alike, yet all are united by the philosophy of Eyaru: harmony, authenticity, and serenity.
Eyaru is completely plastic-free, handcrafted, and designed with sustainability and respect for nature at its core.
No engines onboard – Eyaru is gently pulled by a tugboat from a distance, ensuring absolute silence, no vibrations, and a peaceful sailing experience.
Unmatched privacy – For the first time on the Nile, Eyaru’s crew sleeps on the tugboat at night, giving guests complete privacy onboard.
All-season sailing – Thanks to its signature glass-covered pergola, Eyaru sails comfortably all year round, even in winter.
The only Dahabiya that sails both Luxor to Aswan and Aswan to Luxor.
Eyaru follows exclusive routes unavailable to large cruise ships, allowing you to explore hidden gems along the Nile:
El Hagz Island
Bassaw Village
Gebel El-Silsila
In Bassaw Village, you’ll experience something truly special:
A visit to a local Egyptian home, where you’ll spend time with a family, share stories, and witness daily life as it has been lived for generations. This is not tourism—it’s connection.
You’ll also explore local markets in the villages you visit, engaging directly with the people and traditions of Upper Egypt.
Dining on Eyaru is an experience in itself. All meals are authentic Egyptian dishes, prepared fresh using local ingredients.
