DAY 1 – Saturday: Depart for Italy

Your Sicilian adventure begins as you depart for Italy on an overnight flight bound for Catania.


DAY 2 – Sunday: Arrive in Catania

Benvenuti in Sicilia! Welcome to the island of Sicily — a land shaped by Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans, and Spaniards.

Arrive in Catania and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or begin exploring this vibrant city set beneath the dramatic silhouette of Mt. Etna.

At approximately 6 PM, meet your Tour Manager for a welcome orientation, followed by dinner.

DAY 3 – Monday: Guided City Tour of Catania & Optional Taormina

This morning, explore Catania, a fascinating blend of ancient ruins and Baroque elegance rebuilt after the devastating 17th-century earthquake. Wide piazzas, dramatic architecture, and lively markets define the city.

Catania sits under the watchful presence of Mt. Etna, Europe’s tallest active volcano — a constant reminder of Sicily’s raw natural power.

Afternoon at leisure — or join an optional excursion to Taormina, often called the “Jewel of the Ionian Sea.”
Highlights include the spectacular Greek Theater, offering panoramic views of the sea and Mt. Etna.

DAY 4 – Tuesday: Mount Etna Experience & Modica

Today, experience the dramatic landscapes of Mt. Etna, one of the world’s most active volcanoes.

Ascend to the Silvestri Craters at approximately 6,200 feet. Walk across solidified lava flows and learn how Etna has shaped the region’s geography, agriculture, and culture.

After free time for lunch, continue to Modica — world-renowned for its ancient Aztec-inspired chocolate-making tradition.

Enjoy the evening at leisure in this charming Baroque town.

DAY 5 – Wednesday: Ragusa Ibla & Optional Herb Gardens

Return to Modica for free time — or join the optional Aromatic Herb & Plant Gardens experience. Learn about traditional Sicilian herbs, their culinary uses, and sample local delicacies.

DAY 6 – Thursday: Syracuse & Caltagirone

Travel to Syracuse, birthplace of Archimedes and once one of the most powerful cities of the ancient Greek world.

Visit the Neapolis Archaeological Park, including:

  • The Roman Amphitheater

  • The Greek Theater

  • The legendary “Ear of Dionysius” cave

Enjoy free time in Ortigia (Città Vecchia), a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich with Greek, Roman, and Baroque influences.

Continue to Caltagirone, famed for its centuries-old ceramic traditions. Admire the iconic tiled staircase of Santa Maria del Monte — a vibrant symbol of Sicilian artistry.

DAY 7 – Friday: Agrigento & Valley of the Temples

Drive to Agrigento to explore the breathtaking Valley of the Temples, one of the most important archaeological parks in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Here stand some of the best-preserved Greek temples outside mainland Greece — monumental reminders of Sicily’s ancient glory.

Enjoy a regional lunch before continuing to Marsala.

DAY 8 – Saturday: Marsala, Salt Pans & Stagnone Lagoon
