Your adventure begins early in the morning with pick-up from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh by a modern air-conditioned 4×4 Jeep. Sit back and enjoy the scenic drive through the rugged mountains and vast desert landscapes of the Sinai Peninsula.
Arrive at the legendary St. Catherine Monastery, located at an altitude of 1,570 meters at the foot of Mount Sinai (Gebel Musa). According to tradition, this is the sacred site where Moses saw the Burning Bush and later received the Ten Commandments.
Founded in the 6th century AD during the reign of Emperor Justinian, the monastery is surrounded by massive ancient walls that still stand today. It was later named after Saint Catherine of Alexandria, one of the earliest Christian martyrs. Your guide will explain the monastery’s deep religious, historical, and cultural significance, making this visit meaningful for history lovers and spiritual travelers alike.
Continue north for approximately 65 km along the St. Catherine road to reach the entrance of the breathtaking Colored Canyon, one of Sinai’s most impressive geological formations.
Walk through narrow sandstone passages rising up to 40 meters high, with walls displaying stunning shades of red, orange, yellow, brown, and purple. These vivid colors were formed by natural deposits of iron and magnesium oxides, creating a surreal, otherworldly landscape perfect for photography and exploration.
After your canyon adventure, drive to the charming seaside town of Dahab. Enjoy a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant, then take some free time to stroll along Dahab’s promenade (El Mashraba / Mashaya Street), browse local shops, or simply soak in the relaxed coastal atmosphere.
In the afternoon, begin your scenic drive back through the Sinai Desert to Sharm El Sheikh, arriving at your hotel in the evening.
