🗓 Detailed Itinerary

Your journey begins early in the morning when our representative picks you up from your hotel in Aswan and transfers you in a private air-conditioned vehicle to Aswan Airport for your short flight to Abu Simbel.

Upon arrival, meet your professional English-speaking Egyptologist guide and begin exploring the legendary Abu Simbel Temples, carved directly into the sandstone cliffs on the shores of Lake Nasser.

The Great Temple of Ramses II

Marvel at the colossal statues guarding the entrance of the Great Temple of Ramses II, built in the 13th century BC to glorify the pharaoh and honor the gods Amun, Ra-Horakhty, and Ptah. Inside, admire intricate wall reliefs depicting Ramses II’s famous military victory at the Battle of Kadesh.

Your guide will also explain the incredible UNESCO-led relocation project of the 1960s, when the entire temple complex was dismantled and rebuilt on higher ground to protect it from flooding caused by the construction of the Aswan High Dam.

Temple of Queen Nefertari

Just north of the Great Temple, visit the beautifully preserved Temple of Queen Nefertari, dedicated to Ramses II’s beloved wife and the goddess Hathor. This temple is unique in ancient Egypt, as the statues of the queen are carved equal in size to those of the pharaoh—an exceptional honor.

After completing your visit and enjoying free time for photos, return to Abu Simbel Airport for your flight back to Aswan. Upon arrival, you’ll be met and transferred back to your hotel.
