Detailed Jordan Islamic Heritage Itinerary

Day 1 – Amman Airport | Amman

Welcome to Jordan!

Upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, you will be met and assisted by our representative.

Your professional English-speaking driver will welcome you and assist with your arrival formalities, including the required Jordan visa arrangements, where applicable according to the agreed tour conditions.

After completing the airport procedures, you will be transferred comfortably to your hotel in Amman.

Depending on your arrival time, you may have some free time to relax and settle into your hotel.

Amman, Jordan’s capital, is a fascinating combination of ancient history and modern Arab culture. The city has developed around a series of hills and contains historical treasures from Roman, Byzantine and Islamic periods.

Day 2 – Amman | Sahabah Shrines of the Jordan Valley | Amman

After breakfast, begin your journey toward the Jordan Valley, one of the most important areas for Islamic heritage in Jordan.

The region contains several sites associated with the Sahabah (Companions of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him) who came to the region during the early Islamic period.

Visit selected Sahabah shrines, taking time to learn about the historical significance of these locations and the lives of the individuals associated with them.

The peaceful surroundings provide an opportunity for reflection and spiritual connection while learning more about the early history of Islam in the Levant.

Continue your journey through the Jordan Valley and enjoy the changing landscapes, from fertile agricultural areas to dramatic mountain scenery.

Day 3 – Amman Citadel | King Abdullah I Mosque | Cave of the Seven Sleepers | As-Salt Shrines | Amman

After breakfast, begin a full day exploring some of Amman’s most important historical and Islamic attractions.

Amman Citadel

Start at the Amman Citadel, one of the city’s most important archaeological landmarks.

Situated on the highest hill in central Amman, the Citadel offers panoramic views of the city and contains remains representing several civilizations.

Explore the archaeological area and discover how Amman developed through different historical periods.

King Abdullah I Mosque

Continue to the impressive King Abdullah I Mosque, one of Amman’s most recognizable mosques.

Admire its distinctive architecture and learn more about its role as an important place of worship in the Jordanian capital.

Cave of the Seven Sleepers

Continue to the site traditionally associated with the Seven Sleepers, an important story also mentioned in the Qur’an in Surah Al-Kahf.

The site provides an opportunity to reflect upon the religious traditions surrounding the story and its place within Islamic heritage.

As-Salt & Islamic Shrines

Continue toward As-Salt, a historic city known for its Ottoman-era architecture, traditional houses and cultural heritage.

After sightseeing, return to Amman.

Day 4 – Amman | Karak | Sahabah Shrines | Tafila | Sahabah Sites | Petra

After breakfast, depart Amman and travel south toward Karak.

The journey takes you through some of Jordan’s most beautiful landscapes and historic regions.

Karak – Islamic & Historical Heritage

Arrive in the Karak region and visit selected Sahabah-related shrines and Islamic heritage sites.

Karak is famous for its strategic location and long history, with influences from several civilizations.

The area is also associated with important events during the early Islamic period.

Continue south toward Tafila, another historic region of Jordan.

Visit selected Sahabah heritage locations in the Tafila area and learn about the people and events connected with the early Islamic presence in southern Jordan.

After the visits, continue toward Petra.

Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy some time to relax.

Petra is one of Jordan’s most extraordinary archaeological treasures and was once the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom.

Day 5 – Petra Private Guided Tour | Return to Amman

After breakfast, prepare for one of the highlights of your Jordan journey: a visit to the legendary ancient city of Petra.

Enter Petra through the spectacular Siq, a narrow canyon surrounded by towering sandstone cliffs.

As you emerge from the Siq, the famous Treasury (Al-Khazneh) appears dramatically before you.
