Discover Ancient Civilisations in South-Eastern Türkiye, including Göbekli Tepe — the world’s oldest known temple
Welcome to Istanbul! Upon arrival at Istanbul Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city at your leisure.
Overnight in Istanbul.
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel for a full-day guided walking tour of Istanbul’s historic Old City. Highlights include:
Hagia Sophia, the masterpiece of Byzantine architecture
Blue Mosque, famous for its elegant Iznik tiles
Hippodrome, once the center of chariot races
Grand Bazaar, one of the world’s largest covered markets with over 4,000 shops
Topkapi Palace, former residence of Ottoman sultans
(Harem section not included)
At the end of the tour, transfer back to your hotel.
Overnight in Istanbul.
After breakfast, enjoy free time in Istanbul for shopping or sightseeing. Later, transfer to the airport for your flight to Sanliurfa (approx. 1 hr 45 min). Upon arrival, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel.
Overnight in Urfa.
After breakfast, start a full-day guided tour with a private vehicle. Sanliurfa, known as the City of Prophets, has a history dating back to 9000 BC.
Visits include:
Harran Village, with its famous cone-shaped houses
Ruins of Harran University, considered the world’s first university
Cave of Prophet Abraham’s birth
Balıklıgöl (Fish Pool)
Halil-ur Rahman Mosque
Urfa Castle, Rizvaniye Medrese, and historic inns
Return to the hotel.
Overnight in Urfa.
After breakfast, depart with your private guide towards Göbekli Tepe, the world’s oldest known temple, dating back over 12,000 years—7,500 years older than the Egyptian pyramids.
Continue to:
Atatürk Dam, one of the largest dams on the Euphrates River
Mount Nemrut (UNESCO World Heritage Site), featuring colossal stone heads built by King Antiochus I in honor of the gods
After the tour, drive back to Urfa.
Overnight in Urfa.
After breakfast, drive approximately 2 hours to Gaziantep, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and the home of world-famous Turkish baklava.
Visits include:
Zeugma Mosaic Museum
Gaziantep Castle area
Historic Armenian houses
Kurtuluş Mosque
Former Gregorian Church
Coppersmiths’ Bazaar
Overnight in Gaziantep.
After breakfast, drive to Halfeti, the “hidden city” partially submerged by the Euphrates River.
Highlights:
Boat cruise on the Euphrates River
Views of submerged villages
Rumkale, the Roman fortress where St. John is believed to have written his Gospel
Savaşan Village, the first Cittaslow town in southeastern Türkiye
Return to Gaziantep.
Overnight in Gaziantep.
After breakfast, enjoy free time for shopping or additional sightseeing. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Istanbul or onward destination.
