Itinerary
Day 1: Saklikent Tour Itinerary
After a one-hour trip from Fethiye, we arrive at the ancient Lycian city of Tlos, which has been inhabited for 4000 years. Despite the fact that the city is in ruins, historians and archaeologists believe it was one of the most important religious cities in Lycia. The settlement is located on hills, and according to mythology, Bellerophon lived in Tlos with his flying horse Pegasus. He has a kingly tomb in the necropolis, dedicated by the citizens of Lycia. The Tlos Rock Tombs, Rome Bath, Agora, and Theater offer breathtaking panoramic views. We will have a break at a restaurant where you can rest in the pavilion or take photos.
We plan to visit Saklikent after lunch to uncover its hidden paradise. This unique canyon is 18 kilometers long and 300 meters high, making it the second-longest gorge in Europe. Trekking enthusiasts, both local and foreign, flock to this popular destination and the Lykian Way during the season. Every year, tourists flock to Saklikent for this exhilarating experience. Taking a mud bath in Saklikent, which is thought to have healing properties, is also a popular activity. For those seeking an adrenaline rush, there are even bungee jumping areas in the canyon. Don’t miss the chance to explore this remarkable canyon.
